Forthcoming conference
Synergy 17: Promote inclusion…end exclusion
Athens, Greece – October 2017

We are delighted to confirm further details of our forthcoming conference and workshop held in association with Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation.

This conference will take place on October 10th with the workshop following on the 11th. For registration, programme and further details, please email mentalhealth@laskaridou.gr

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
We are delighted that our Synergy workshop on ethical and effective approaches to behaviours of concern – and our bespoke workshop for Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHP) – were accredited by the CPD service. The AMHP course has again been delivered to mental health professionals at the London Boroughs of Redbridge and in Hackney.

Our CPD accredited Synergy programme, developed with our partners from the Laskaridis Foundation, Greece has now been delivered in a number of countries, the latest being Jersey in May and Singapore in June. Evaluations continue to be extremely positive and we are all looking forward to the Third Annual Synergy conference in Greece in October. Synergy is growing  with Australia and China the latest countries to express interest in the development of local Synergy hubs.

Our specialist consultancy services continue to explore interesting areas. In Denmark, our evaluation of the parent training programme for the local authority, the Aarhus Kommune, Aarhus is nearing completion. Also in Denmark, we are delighted to be working with the renowned specialist autism school Langagerskolen on developing a number of areas of practice.

In the Channel islands, building on our previous work with the National Autistic Society and Autism Guernsey we are assisting the States of Guernsey on the development of an on-island residential autism service and the autism framework. In neighbouring Jersey our long-term partnership with Autism Jersey continues and we are delighted to see the continued growth and stability of the charity in providing more and more services for the people of Jersey.

AT-Autism’s Directors, Consultants and Associates have many years of experience working with children, adults, families and professionals across a range of sectors (including health, education and social care).

Our board and team include autistic people. Our aim is to provide you with confidence that the accredited training and consultancy you receive will be based on the best evidence, delivered by leaders in the field.  Our aim is wherever possible to support the development of local capacity.

Our partnership with colleagues in Education, Care and Health in the Northern Isles has developed over many years and as collaboration between Local Authorities has grown we are proud to be part of that planning. Both Shetland and Orkney Isles have started a number of joint initiatives, with Synergy being the next. Synergy compliments much of the work already going on in the Northern Isles and we all agree its joint adoption will fit well with other capacity-building strategies.
