Day 2 SPELL Framework Training

We are delighted to announce that we will be offering Day 2 SPELL framework training in person from November 2025.

Day 2 is a 6-hour CPD accredited course. This one-day Train the Trainer course prepares participants to deliver the SPELL framework – a values-based, practical, and evidence-informed approach to supporting autistic people. Developed by autistic practitioners and experts in the field, SPELL promotes empathy, structure, low-arousal environments, and strengths-based support. Participants will gain the skills and confidence to embed SPELL across their organisations and train others in its principles and practice. This programme is designed for professionals looking to take a leading role in fostering inclusive practice and organisational change. Training will take place at The Mayflower Primary School, Upper North Street, London E14 6DU

AT-Autism provides SPELL training based on the newly revised SPELL handbook. We recommend that all delegates purchase this 3rd edition of the handbook, which will be published in autumn 2025.

Course cost: £350 + VAT

This includes a pdf copy of the training slides at the end of the course.

“The technique of transitioning between ‘system 1′ and ‘system 2’ in managing challenging behaviors of autistic individuals proved particularly beneficial. The training inspired a shift in perspective from ‘othering’ to fostering a sense of ‘we’.”

Dr Ismail Farhat

“We can now see the difficulties and challenges with an emotional distance, and not amplified by our daily stress.”

Tina Daltou, teacher mentor

“The knowledge we gained through deeper understanding resulted in immediate application and improved our practice throughout the whole school. “

“We learnt how to better understand not only our students but their parents as well. Ultimately through our school taking part in Synergy we all felt a sense of relief.”

Afroditi Sakelaridou, Head teacher.

“The program has definitely changed the way i think about ‘behaviour’. The last three years I had the opportunity to observe children’s behavior within the school context. Talking with teachers helped me see things from a different perspective and to better understand behaviors of concern.”

“As a result , I was able to help teachers and Headteachers share that understanding. This had an impact on how I also felt: As I started to truly understand human behavior, I felt less stressed and more capable of handling difficult situations and so did the teachers I worked with.”

Sofianopoulou Katerina- Synergy Mentor.

“…“other” and the “self”, and how we can empower others through showing respect, and cultivating abilities and skill sets.”

Tzonaka Josephina, Synergy Mentor
